Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez continued his impressive start to life at the Spanish capital, after hitting a record-breaking brace in their La Liga 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo on Monday night.
The former Barcelona forward netted his first goal for the night just before half-time at the Wanda Metropolitano to level the scores at 1-1, after the visitors struck early through Santi Mina to take the lead.
The Uruguay striker struck again early in the second half to give the Rojiblancos the lead, however, the visitors scored late in the game to steal a point away from the capital.
Suarez has now scored 16 goals in just 17 LaLiga games since switching from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Suarez becomes the first player in La Liga to achieve such prolific goal scoring feat breaking the previous record of 15 goals in 17 games set by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Atletico moved eight points clear of joint second Barcelona and Real Madrid, with one game in hand.
