The exchange of hot words between Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, has worsened.
The latest is from Governor Ortom, who described Governor Bala Mohammed as one of the Fulani Herdsmen terrorizing the country.
Ortom made the allegation while reacting to a statement credited to Bala Mohammed, criticizing the Benue State Governor for asking arms carrying herdsmen to leave Benue State.
Addressing Newsmen in Makurdi, Governor Ortom, expressed shock that a Governor, who took oath to safe guard lives and property of the people, could openly support armed herdsmen, who as Bala Mohammed put it, came from Ghana, Niger, Libya to kill in Nigeria.
The Benue State Governor wondered why Governor Bala Mohammed would support the activities of killer herdsmen who, he said, wrote a letter threatening to kill him, following his harmless advice to the presidency on the worsening security situation in the country.
