Presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, says no amount of wailing can stop President Muhammadu Buhari from having medical checkup in London.
Onochie was responding to the criticisms of Buhari’s current medical trip that has led to a series of protests at the Abuja House in London where the President is lodged.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, she said “@MBuhari won’t dump his doctor of about 40 years so that wailers can be happy. That’s blackmail. Thankfully, he doesn’t pay blackmailers.’’
The Presidential aide said ‘wailing can’t take the rights of the President from seeing his personal doctors as such wailers should get ready to fool around.’
According to her, next year President Buhari will go for a routine checkup which he has been doing since 2017.
She said “We have been here since 2016. It’s been the same wailing. So the response will also be the same.
“At least, once a year, people across the world see their personal doctors, especially the one they have seen for about 40 years.’
Onochie said in 2016, she ran from one media house to the other, educating the public on the psychology of the bond between a patient & his/her long-standing doctor
She said, “The fact remains that if @MBuhari chooses, he will go for checkups in 2022 & 2023. He will continue to go. It’s his choice to go or not to.
“I don’t know any man who will accept a different barber to cut his hair if the one he is used to, is not available, God bless Nigeria’’.
