A popular Nigeria actress, Toyin Abraham on Monday says a woman is more than the sum total of her sexuality.
The actress who took to her Instagram handle on Monday to reacts to a post made by a Nigerian Rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, popularly known as Rugged Man, who took to his twitter handle to ask why it was only female actress that were buying cars and building houses up and down, said “it’s a little bit sad that many people on social media leeched on the rapper’s post with derogatory comments about women, especially those in Nollywood”.
Toyin Abraham said it’s important she puts the information out there, that many women make good money legitimately.
She named some actresses who were being paid in millions of Naira for their acting roles, naming the likes of Sharon Onoja, Nancy Isime, Kehinde Bankole, Inidima Okojie, Bisola Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye amongst others.
The Nigerian Screen Goddess said she also knows men who were doing extraordinarily well for themselves and are paid in millions, stating that the fact that most of these men choose not to make noise on social media, does not in any way mean they were second class citizens in the industry.
She said they should stop attributing every woman’s success to her sexual prowess with men as many other women outside the entertainment industry are doing well for themselves.
