Reports from Kano says the State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has confiscated fake and expired drugs worth over N200 Million.
The Managing Director of the Council, Baffa Babba Danagundi, said the Organization made the seizure following a raid on a building where the drugs were stored and repackaged.
According to the Acting MD, the KSCPC raided the building on No. 37 Niger Street after tip off about the illegal activities carried out within the building.
He said some of the drugs confiscated had no NAFDAC Registration Number, while some had expired and repackaged before releasing them back into the market.
Baffa Babba called on the general public to be conscious of the drugs they consume as well as places they patronize to avoid purchasing expired and fake drugs which instead of getting relief, would lead to more complications.
He warned that the Council would continue to do its best to rid the state of any form of fake, expired and unwholesome products that posed danger to the health of the people.
Baffa Babba called on the people to come forward with credible information that would lead to the arrest of those producing and circulating fake and adulterated drugs in the state.
